Governor of the state Banwarilal Purohit has defended himself after
questioning about the issue being examined by Raj Bhavan in case of
female lecturer of a college in Tamil Nadu, with a lot of number and
money for some officers, instead of 'abstaining' with some officials. . He has said that he has the right to do so as Chancellor of the University.

Banwarilal Purohit said, "I am a chancellor of the university and I
have power under the Madurai Kamaraj University Act. According to this act, I have the right to take action in case of immediate action taken in any kind of emergency. I personally do not know the accused lady lecturer. Many people come to the stage during any university conventions, which are difficult to remember. Any allegations against me are all baseless. '
He said, "In this matter the truth will emerge and action will be taken against the culprits." Action will be taken against all those who will be named in the inquiry report. The entire fairness will be born in the matter. '

College girls complained about this from college management on March 19 last month. After the complaint, the accused lecturer was temporarily suspended. This matter came to light again when the conversation between the lecturer and the students became viral on social media. In this, the lecturer was heard saying that to take 85 per cent marks and scholarship, girls should "abstain" with some officers. The accused gave this 'advice' to the BSc Final Year Students.
The accused lecturer has been arrested and the police is interrogating him. The committee has been formed to investigate the matter.
