Henry I of Hesse "The Child" (German: Henrique Das Kind) (24 June 1244 - 21 December 1308) was Hesse's first land grave. He was the son of Henry II, Duke of Brabant and Sophie of Thuringia.
 
In 1247, as the Landgrave Heinrich Raspe of Thuringia, without any issue, there was a conflict about the future of Thuringia and Hesse. Heritage was disputed between Henry Ryspe's nephew and her niece: Sophie was the daughter of Henrique Rosspe, brother of Ludwig IV and claimed areas by her son Henry,
