Election Commission has warned against suspending the party's recognition on not giving audit report on behalf of RJD
New Delhi: The RJD chief is not taking the name of Lalu Yadav's problems. For the Lalu Yadav, who is serving a sentence in the fodder scam, the EC has issued a notice against his party and warned him to suspend the party's recognition. In fact, RJD has not submitted the audit report of the party for the year 2014-15 to the Election Commission.
According to the notice issued by the Election Commission on April 13, the RJD has been warned to suspend the recognition of the party not to submit the audit report by the beginning of next month. According to the rules, it is mandatory for every political party to submit the annual audit report of the party till October 31. The notice issued in the name of party commissioner Lalu Prasad Yadav said that the RJD has not given the annual audit report for the year 2014-15. Its last date was 31 October 2015.
On this basis, the Commission has asked the RJD chief to issue show cause notices on why his action against the party should be taken under paragraph 16-A of the election symbol (reservation and allocation) order 1968. In violation of this, the commission is entitled to suspend the recognition of any recognized party.
As per the order of the Supreme Court it is mandatory for all political parties to present their annual audit report to the Election Commission within the stipulated time frame.
